SO Spring season soccer started about three weeks ago in the bitter cold. It has just been this last week since I did not need mittens and many blankets despite still shivering! All of the girls are doing well.
Katie's game have become VERY physical and many times I get nervous that she is going to get hurt. There have been a couple of concussions, and injuries just in the last couple of weeks. Katie loves soccer and lives and breathes it. She continues to work at Clinton City and loves the attention from the older boys there. She is the center ref a good part of the time and does really well! Katie's team will likely be in the Premier bracket after this season, this bracket is where the only best team in the state belong. She is in one of the top team teams in the state, this is impressive since there are so many soccer teams.
Jerra still plays soccer and her team ended up first in their division last year. BUT she does not love soccer, she loves to run. She has been in JR high track and is running 5K's whenever she gets a chance. She ran a small one this weekend and took first place 22:38. She won over all, and the second place runner came in two minutes behind her! She gets going sets her running on "cruise control" and doesn't stop? FYI... The gene does not come from me!
Hannah's is on a really good soccer team too, they are struggling right now, but good happy girls and good fundamentals. It takes a while for a team to get good. Hannah was playing a game on Thursday night (I was not there, I had sent her with someone else). She supposedly fell, and no one saw her. She jumped up and finished the game. When she came home, after holding her tears back, she lost it and said that her wrist hurt so bad. I iced it, gave her ibuprofen, and told her that she would be fine! Two days later and another soccer game, I took her to the clinic and xrayed her, and she had a fracture! We brought her home in a brace and casted her over the kitchen sink. There is benefits to having your mom work in a clinic! She got to pick her color of cast and can change it at anytime. No very many little girls get a casting over the kitchen sink! She kind of liked this.
Hannah is exceptional at dealing with this. It is her right wrist, and she has not complained once. She made brownies tonight, she got in the tub with a wrap around her cast and washed her hair. She asks for help at school when needed and she is ready to play her soccer game again on Thursday! No complaints! She has always been an amazing little girl, even since her birth eleven years ago.
Sorry, I need to take pics of Katie and Hannah. Just ended up with a ton of Jerra, will work on it.
This was the Fremont 5 K time was 21:45 Took first place, best running Buddy Kennedy took 2nd.
Running Jr high track she runs the mile and 800. :)_
5 K this weekend in Hooper first place and Miss Rodeo Utah provided her with the first place medal.
During the 5k she was interviewed, for the (what we think) was the Standard Examiner.
