Great ending to a GREAT summer!!!!

Ok, so we took our last camping trip of the summer. It was bittersweet. I am excited that the kids are now situated in school, but the summer went so fast. I didn't feel as if we had enough time to do the things that we wanted, especially in June when it rained most of the month. This camping trip was right up there with the rest. Fabulous!!! We went with the Simpson family to Cub River outside of Preston Idaho. It was so much fun and the kids LOVED it. Idaho, how could anyone have fun there you might say??? This was an exception. The campground was nestled back in a very wooded area with lost of pine trees. The campground itself was quite big allowing the kids to explore. It had a creek that weaved throughout the campground with waterfalls (small ones), bridges. Needless to say we had lots of wet shoes and socks, but the many hours of entertainment for the kids was well worth the dirty laundry! On Saturday we rode for about 7 hours, weaving through tight spaces and up many hills. We went to the Paris ice cave inside the cave there was lots of snow and ice. Ethan was amazed that there was about 8 inches of ice down inside the cave in the middle of the summer!! Thane liked throwing snowballs at everyone! They all crawled up out through the hole in the top, scaling the walls on the way up. On Saturday we also rode to the top of a mountain, hiked about one mile back into a remote lake. The lake was nestled against a beautiful mountain. It had a rope swing that went out and dropped into the lake and of course Ethan wanted to swing out into the lake, until... he put his finger in the water. Freezing! I was amazed at how many teenagers were swinging from it because it was cold and we were at 8500 feet! Sunday we went on another long ride (we went 60 miles total both days) up to the overlook of Bear lake, and to a old Korean war plane crash site. The kids loved the whole bit. I rarely heard any complaints. Stacie and Jared had their Ranger and most of the time the kids rode with them (thanks guys). I think Thane and I have made our mind up that it is time to buy one. At night, we played games around the fire and ate great food. The kids always went right to sleep, not a peep. Other than dust in my ears, nose, eyes, and between my boobs (ha-ha), a flat tire and a hot transmission, the trip went off well! It was was quite enjoyable. Thanks to Stacie Jared, Rex, Pam and all the kids for a really great time!!!

Pictures to come I am at work!!!
