Day 3 we had enough of the park and the people. We decided to go to Mack's Inn and ride the river. We rented ourselves a 8 man raft and down the river we went. At first we relaxed and took our time. Five miles ended up feeling like fifteen, and so after some disagreements on the best way to paddle, we all go the swing of things. About 150 yards before the end of the long trip, a moose came running out into the water right in front of us! It was wonderful, Jerra loves moose and it was so exciting to see her eyes when it ran out in front of us. We got lots of close ups. We were closer than any other people in the area. I guess right place right time ( this time at least).
That night we went into West Yellowstone to eat and shop for the dreaded t-shirts. I say dreaded, because I dread it. It is so hard to please all of the kids. We got lucky twice in one day because we found a place that put "decals" on any shirt that you wish and the kids got to pick their shirt and their decal, Score! Ethan decided that a shirt was not the best prize in the city, he decided on a sling shot. He then shot rocks of the deck for the rest of the trip! Good thing his dad and Jess were good at teaching.
